Why Didn't I Think Of That First?

The Cranky Queen & one of her more "artsy" than "junky" gal pals, Jester Gina, took a royal ride to B'ham to attend one of the neatest little art shows called HANDMADE.  Each year this event is held at an artist's home (usually outside in a quaint neighborhood with terraced lawn & an inviting home that just screams eclectic&cool). This year was no exception!
The Queen adores salvaged architecture! This cross was calling her name. Love the old wood & mortise lock
Made from an old chair piece

We both bought a salvaged relic cross
Why didn't I think of this idea 1st?

The Queen was "Cranky No More" when she spotted this little bench tucked away in the backyard!  It is good to be Queen!
Made from both old and new rulers and yard sticks...
Cranky King will be making a few of these salvageable "smarties"~
The base was an old piano bench....
This is Gina & I a couple of summers ago...good friends

After having an awesome day at the art event, Mr. Mailman left me a package sent all the way from Illinois! My kind 1st cousin, Countess Kathryn, sent me a BIG box of lovelies...It is good to be Queen...
Filled with wonderful linenware, hand towels, tablecloths & more
Beautiful, Vibrant Colors...Makes my head spin thinking of how I am going to "re-purpose" these!
Thrift Store Finds That She "picked" for me...

Kathryn is the nicest, sweetest soul! She always has a big smile on her face...very talented in cooking & sewing...She loves family & I am blessed to call her family!

Stay close, all of my blog friends...Next Post~Fall Decor~Royal Style...

STAY CALM, SALVAGE ON & BE KIND!

Feeling Ticking-ly Creative...

The Cranky Queen has always liked ticking fabric...it has such a "history-look" to it.  I guess it brings back memories of my childhood sleeping on blue ticking down pillows...Just a little pumpkin that I made using black & white ticking, burlap stem, buttons, & gold felt-like fabric.
I am going to Be-Witch someone with this "happy" little pumpkin...I will just drop this little fella off @ a gal pal's house & leave a note, telling them "They Have Been Be-Witched"...
The Cranky Queen loves to be anonymous!
This is my next creation...A new "junkin' bag"...
I layered different patterned fabrics to make the flower petals. Old buttons for the center & check out the leaf made from an old zipper part~
The purse handle is men's ties...
I cut the same ticking on the bias and gathered it on my sewing machine to make trim, then embellished it with vintage buttons!~
This was my inspiration for my purse seen at the Strawberry Patch Barn Sale!

STAY CALM & TICK ALONG!
