Gettin' My Crafty Christmas On...

Now, the Cranky Queen loves Christmas...but, she typically puts off decorating until after Thanksgiving. She really is saddened by the fact that Thanksgiving is completely skipped by many...her turkeys still fill the royal castle with many gobbles, but she has started creating Christmas crafts. Her 1st DIY craft, pillows made from a vintage dish towel.
Easy as pumpkin pie~ Just cut, sew, stuff & add a little ric-rac & buttons.
Check out this "Trash-Turn-Terrific" Window.  Yep, the Queen saved this cabinet door from a drive~by~ dump. Add garland (snagged at a yard sale), snow flakes & ribbon for $1 each & you've got a Ready To Hang Holiday Window that would make Scrooge tickled!

This is my " Pinterest Twist " on a silverplate holiday wreath
Started with a silver plate casserole dish stand, then added greenery, an adorable teapot & finished it off with crocheted ribbon, lace & pinecones.

Side View...If this little darlin' does not sale in The Cranky Queen's Booth, it will be hanging next to the castle doors this Christmas!
I found this woodsy tray at a yard sale for $1 last week...the grapevine wreath was a freeby & pine cones, berries & burlap ribbon were already in the Queen's craft stash. Ready for the Lodge!
CABIN FEVER stenciled on a shutter rung

This star is made from old shutters that "have seen better days."  Hot glue & jute and wa~la, a Star is Born

To Junk Or Not To Junk...That Is NO Question

This is Part II of the Cranky Queen's trip to The Country Living Fair near Atlanta, GA. (See my previous post for Part I).  We saw lots of baskets on wheel similar to the one above.  I think they are adorable, but not functional (for me) in large crowds. But these wheeled contraptions are fashionable & do take the load off yours hands...& present so many ideas!
These old trucks have become so popular. Love this one filled with pumpkins. The other with mini trees.
Crazy about these caps with funky flowers made from all sorts of lace, fringed fabric, buttons, etc.

I love pillows. These to the left were fantastic! Tea stained with added doilies and lace, finished off with old brooches.

Easy craft perfect for any kitchen

What a fun stool made out of a broken chair. Adorable time out chair.

I really liked this bag. Look at all the textures and patterns...
Check out the funky lampshades & upholstered chair by Christy Stone
A vendor's daughter was nice enough to let me take a snapshot of her skirt..we have decided this is going to be the next "gal pal" craft night creation!
Lighting made from an assortment of buckets & industrial items
Ain't this true!

Tons of fun Christmas ideas using vintage decorations.

Suitcases are still very popular

This guy (with the nice hair) had the booth with all the military wear.
And this my blog friends is Patrick owner of South Porch Antiques. I stalk him (no visit him) each year.  He is referred to as "THE COWBOY".
This chandelier is definitely Castle~Worthy...

I had a great time with these 2 gal pals, Tammy & Melanie!   Keep Junkin'! Tiff

Junk Drunk...Country Living Fair

The Cranky Queen and her "Court of Gal Pals" traveled to Stone Mtn., Georgia to attend the Country Living Fair~A mega antique show that should be on every junker's "bucket list."
Cranky Queen, Duchess Melanie & Countess Tammy~Off to the Fair!
I took so many pictures, that I will divide our royal trip into 2 parts. This post will focus on the amazing displays that these artist, dealers, junkers, & over-the-top talented people set up to sale their goods! Unbelievable!
I have collected blue swirl for years. It is all packed up waiting for Cranky King to purchase a cabin so I can use it in my lodgy~decor inspiration!
"GLAM CAMP"- an amazing booth & the items for sale were just "glamorous" !
Cranky Queen wanted the door, but the royal purse was barren by show's end.
Industrial continues to be the "IN DECOR"~especially for lofts
Deer were everywhere this year!

My favorite deer! Wouldn't this be adorable at Christmas for those who have hunters like our Royal Family!
The bike w/ crows and moss was an eye catcher!

I have started an old bottle collection in a birdbath. Loved, loved, loved everything in this booth!
Fun Fall Decor
Suitcases used for display were still popular among most vendors.

Military Wear and Flannel has made a come back. Cranky Queen purchased an authenic Army wool coat. It is as the cleaners at this moment...My Dad's name tag and metals will be worn fondly on it!
Lots of vintage lace on everything!

Old signs were "the rage" this year!
Do you see me anywhere?
Mannequins were a must in most booths!

My Aunt & her children's last name is ARBUCKLE, Oh how I wanted to get this!

Hope you enjoyed the Cranky Queen's tour of the 2013 Country Living Fair!  More to come...

STAY CALM & ATTEND A FALL FAIR!
