The Groovy Egg



The Queen was feeling a little "1970's"...so she decided to get her groove on & decoupage another egg.  Now I have been seeing all types of decoupaged or "Modge Podged" eggs in blog-land...A week or so ago, I even made Easter eggs using torn pages from an old hymnal & dictionary, vintage lace & buttons (see previous post "Recycled Nest." But I wanted to to be somewhat of a hippie & "shake things up" from the typical Easter egg...
I found this groovy paper in a magazine advertising scrap booking supplies. Cut out the flowers.  Used gloss Modge Podge to adhere. Added lime ribbon, this great vintage clip-on earring, & gold leaves from a broken bracelet in my junk drawer.                      
 
I spray painted a peat pot "eye shadow blue"; placed silver ric-rac around the center; glued a big blue button on the back side & a small button & the other gold leaves on the front.  I then tied a bow using the same lime green ribbon with a blue fauxe rhinestone in the center. I filled the peat pot with light green moss & some shredded paper to "nest" the groovy egg in...

"Stayin' Alive"..."Play That Funky Music".Tiff is gettin' down & gettin' groovy! Come on everybody "Shake Your Booty!"

    Love the blog name, big fan of KCCO - I am a painter and I sell about a zillion of those signs in various forms from large scale to small. And I am the dresser number painter and I did it by hand. Mostly I hope I win your drawing and am a new follower. Love all the vintage pictures!

    Love the egg! Look back in the history of my blog to see my adventures with Modge Podge and paper mache. I was lucky enough to move in our house when the Porch Tour artist lived across the street. I took one of her classes and worked with her on the porch tour a couple of years before she moved! I would love to come up for "craft night" or you come down with Wanda...but leave out Nana!
