Nature's Nativity Tree

The Cranky Queen's Garden Club entered the Sylacauga Beautification Council's Christmas Tree Contest. The contest offered cash prizes & we chose to create a Christmas tree focusing on wildlife & nature.
We started with a disassembled tree & bags of ornaments, bird seed bells, berries, grapevine & burlap.
Five of our Camellia Garden Club Members chose to participate in the "trimming of the tree."  We hot- glued  ribbon onto birdseed bells...
We carefully hung ornaments on the tree...
Grapevine & berries with burlap type ribbon gave the tree that "homemade~comfortable" look...
Don't you just adore the birdseed bells?

The grapevine star honored the Birth of Jesus Christ!
Little Bird's Nest tucked into the branches...
Cardinal ornaments purchased @ Dollar General...Can You Believe???
Red & Tan Burlap served as the skirt with pine cones nestled under the tree...
We were very disappointed that we did not place...we felt that our tree was a "winner"!  But in the spirit of Christmas...we did not "pout"...Well, The Queen was a "little cranky"~LOL!

But...a hug & snapshot with Prince Logan before he left for the Star Dust Winter Formal put me right back in the holiday season

STAY CALM & TRIM A TREE!
Tiffany

  2. Yes, I agree that your nature tree is a winner. Love the bells and I love that burlap webbing. I bought a bunch at Walmart last year. There is so much you can do with it. Prince Logan is looking pretty daper. Hope he had a good time.

    Blue is so forlorn!

    Red for girls and boys!

  10. I agree with you, your tree was a winner!! And your prince he is charming! Reading your profile had me laughing with your description of southern living in the heat! As one from the north, truly I would melt! I'm waiting for my snow to arrive and so disappointed it is not here, yet. Thanks so much for stopping by Cottage and Broome, I'm a new follower, Laura

  11. Your tree is definitely a winner! I love the birdseed bells. I gave away all but the most sentimental of our decorations last year to the families in crisis center. We were only putting up a Charlie Brown tree simply adorned with white lights the last few years so figured I wouldn't need them. Turns out my Daughter is coming home with her fiance for Christmas. It's been years since we've all been together for the holidays and it's his 1st Canadian Christmas (so I better make it a good one!). Guess I'm off to the stores to buy me some decorations!

  24. Hey there just wanted to give you a quick heads up. The text in your post seem to be running off the screen in Safari.
I'm not sure if this is a formatting issue or something to do with browser compatibility but I figured I'd
post to let you know. The design look great though!
Hope you get the problem fixed soon. Thanks
