Showin' Your Team Colors...

I don't know about any of ya'll, but in the South, we love our SEC football...and The Cranky Queen's family is no exception.  We are fans win or lose. We wear our team colors on t-shirts & caps (& any other attire we can find)...we wave our flags in the yards...bumper stickers plaster our vehicles...we tail gate...& don't plan anything on Saturdays Sept. thru Nov. cause we are either attending the game or watching it on television!
Now The Cranky Queen & Prince Logan were not always Auburn fans...being born & raised in Louisiana...The Queen wore her purple and gold proudly & rooted for another tiger...the LSU Tigers...& she still holds them near & dear to her heart. But, since Prince Logan will be an official Auburn University student next year, the royal family cries WAR EAGLE proudly! And since I am a nice fan, I am going to share my tutorial with ya'll on how I made this fun fan wreath!
Step 1:  MATERIALS - 1/2 yard fabric each of your 2 team's colors; grapevine wreath; vintage team stadium cushion; scissors; thin wire
Don't you just love this old stadium cushion that I found at Chelsea Antique Mall for $3! I love the vintage look. I guess you could use a new one if you are not as lucky to be The Queen! Royalty has its advantages.
Step 2:  Cut the fabric into 2" strips (1/2 yd length  is 18" long).
Step 3: Then cut the 2" x 18"strips into  (3) 6" strips. So will have lots of  fabric strips to tie on your wreath!
Step 4: Begin tying on your fabric strips varying the color.  This will take awhile.
I found the Rag Wreath Tutorial on The High Heeled Hostess Blog
Step 5:  Attach the stadium cushion at an angle with thin wire on to the grapevine wreath.  Make a wire hanger loop on the back for hanging.  HANG!

Along with the Rag Wreath, The Cranky Queen has has hung these other fun items on the side porch.  An old spooky mirror with a blue metal frame (also bought at Chelsea Antique Mall) & the Auburn Orange "S" initial honoring the Queen's last name (STEERS)~
Although we wore purple and gold for many years...life is full of changes & we now root for both Tigers~ Auburn and LSU....But we wear orange and navy! Life is full of surprises...Cheer on!

STAY CALM & SHOW YOUR TEAM'S COLORS!
