The Queen's Mantle

Having fun with versions of blue transferware...
This is one of the Queen's prize possessions...a memory jug found at a neighborhood flea market in Munich, Germany.   Airport Security almost confiscated it during a Customs Check due to all the metals that it contained...
Look at the detail of this fabulous find!
The tall shell memory jug is from the Victorian era, while the two smaller pieces are not as old, but loved as well!

The vase & bunny rabbits (pictured below) are Peter's Pottery, a pottery made in Mound Bayou, Mississippi. The blue broken chunk is from ruins that was retrieved by Tiffany during their stop in Progreso, Mexico. The tiny cup perched on top of an old metal lamp base is another Mexican find at a local flea market.

The amazing swirled pottery pitcher was found in Madrid, Spain by Cranky King & Queen during a trip in 2000...

As seen in the first picture of the blog, the vintage blue transferware pitcher holds quail feathers, while the Mexican bowl contains dried blue hydrangeas...

Another "Belle of the Ball" is this antique windmill painting that the Queen purchased from very dear antique dealer in Homewood, AL, Tricia Thomas of Tricia's Treasures  It is from upstate New York purchased from an apartment of elderly residents.  It is one of  Tiffany's favorite paintings that she owns...
An up close look...
Can you say WOW??? Yes, this Victorian memory jug was coveted by Mrs. Cranky for over a year after she spotted it at the Country Living Market in Atlanta, GA.  Now can you say "Lucky Ducky"???  The following year (Oct. 2012), the jug made its 2nd debut at the same show & she snagged it for 1/2 of the asking price from the previous year by a good~looking cowboy,  South Porch Antiques in New York.
Old jugs surround the fireplace showing their origin of Sylacauga, AL (home of The Cranky Queen) & Vicksburg, MS (birthplace of the Queen)

Old baskets & a amateur winter scene painting add finishing touches to the area.
The Royal Family "striking a pose" in front of the mantle!

STAY CALM & DECORATE YOUR MANTLE!
