Cuffology...Cuffs With Character

Cuffs are the new bracelet...Comfortable, Cool, & Clever!  The Cranky Queen has 2 to flaunt today. The denim cuff was made by yours truly, while the vintage lace cuff was created by gal pal, Duchess Melanie!
ABOVE:  The Cranky Queen's Cuff Creation!

The cuff is actually made w/ leftover denim scraps from a pair of tired blue jeans.  The leaves are burlap & the flower is gathered vintage fabric w/ a rolled burlap center, old lace & buttons...a key was used for some added charm!

The wooden button & elastic lace are used as the cuff clasp.

Melanie loves vintage laces, buttons, tatting, crocheted pieces, etc... A romantic at heart! Her cuff created for The Queen is dainty & timeless....Using pieces of hand~made laces that are so beautiful...and the center button is amazing!
She used a large snap for the cuff closure, hidden....
Duchess Melanie sits to my left wearing the white jacket...talented lady, but most of all, a treasured friend!

STAY CALM &  CREATE A CUFF!

I will be joining linky parties this week listed on my side bar!

  4. Coming over from VTT.

I believe this is my FIRST time to meet you! So nice to meet you, I'm Keetha.

I LOVE your blog title! I just WISH I would have found this while I was still teaching. When my students began to argue over game rules, or my scoring thereof, I would say: "Who's the queen?" or "Don't argue with the queen!"

They would all giggle and come right back in line over that.

However - - - it would have been SUCH FUN to say, "Sometimes the Queen's just GOT to be cranky!"

  5. One more thing I forgot to say!

When I was in HS, in the very early 70's, I had one white blouse that was my absolute FAVORITE because it had cuffs that required cuff links!

I raided my dad's stash of cuff links - - - he had some gorgeous ones with faux rubies and black onyx or something. I LOVED wearing those cuff links - - - made me feel like I was wearing jewelry.

I wasn't ALLOWED to wear jewelry back in those days since my dad was a pastor in a conservative denomination and my mom was always afraid of "what will people think."

    Um - - - I wear as much jewelry as I WANT now. ;-)

  9. My daughter introduced me to cuffs...yours are beautiful! I'd like to a see a picture of the denim one being worn. Do you wear it with a long sleeve only so it really does look like a cuff...or can it be worn with anything?

I'm hosting my Homemaking Linkup Weekend and would love to have you join, if you'd like!

    Have a great day!
