Vintage Marketplace in Hendersonville, TN - Part I

Well, let me see...where do I start?  Let me just say that the Cranky Queen & her gal pal, Duchess Melanie had an incredible time during our weekend "jaunt" to Tennessee!  I am posting in Parts because of our full royal agenda...After reading Sue Whitney's blog about Vintage Marketplace, we knew that it was an event that could not be missed!

Tiff & Mel at the hotel prior to our first day out!

These angelic statues greeted us as we entered the show...The Vintage Marketplace was showcased along with the long-standing Tailgate-Music Valley Antique Show this year.
Is this not the cutest old truck door display? Headin' to the salvage yard!
Mel fell in love with the clothing made from vintage chenille bedspreads...
These hand-picked vendors had amazing displays!

Melanie spent lots of time with this jewelry artist & purchased 2 bracelets.  I loved the tiered shelf w/ velvet lining that I joyfully got from her.

This makes me want to go to the beach!
Annie Sloan's CHALK PAINT display & demonstrations were a highlight of the show.
The Cranky Queen really wanted this demi john... even had a crown on it...but it was out of her "royal budget"!!!  It just sweetens the hunt...
 Bringing the Outdoors In....
Shoes forms, boxes and anything with numbers were show stoppers!

Vintage mannequins were definitely the highlight of the show...Most were NOT for sale.  Others already had SOLD tagged on them.  Love this blue one!
 Pillows, Pillows, & More Pillows!
The "industrial look" is still in...

Judith Mercado, owner of BLOOMSBURY LOFT & I posed for a snapshot.
Of course, with my last name being STEERS, I had to find the Long Horns!

And let's not forget the collections.  Buttons, Glass Stoppers, & Shaving Brushes...

Then there was the odd....

Can you say "odd"?  This is an authentic wig worn in the days that men wore them!

These very old and expensive bottle black babies were my fav!
Wiping the drool from my mouth...BOO! Prices were scary!
Covet is the only word that I could use for this exquisite mosaic table~
Lots of beautiful folk art quilts on the Tailgate side of the show~

The highlight of the show was the Cranky Queen & Sue Whitney' visit.  Sue is so genuinely nice & so cute! We chatted about re~cycled clothing made from vintage fabrics.  I made my tunic using a barkcloth tablecloth & Sue's outfit was designed from a vintage suit by a famous seamstress in California! She said the show would be even larger next year!
So we took time to really shop & visit with all of the vendors...& pick the daisies!

See ya soon in the Part II Post!

STAY CALM & TAKE A ROAD TRIP!
