Mother's Day is right around the corner, so the Cranky Queen thought it would be nice to have a giveaway. I know that most of us consider "motherhood" as the greatest gift that God could give us...so I wanted to make your Mother's Day special from one "mamma" to another...
The old saying "If Mamma Ain't Happy, Ain't Nobody's Happy", holds true in the Queen's house, so I have graciously crafted this altered bottle for one special mother to win!
The top of the bottle using ribbon, lace, old jewelry, buttons... |
The back of the bottle graced with old book pages, bits of vintage doilies & embroidery, buttons, jewels, lace & flowers... |
Look at this sweet angel's face... |
Old netting attached with buttons on the sides.... |
OK, All you Mothers out there, I know what you are asking yourself?
HOW DO I ENTER THIS GIVEAWAY???
The Cranky Queen is feeling generous today, so I will make it easy...
1. Leave a comment on my blog telling me a short sweet motherly
memory & tell me if you are a new follower or a current follower.
2. Grab my Giveaway Button & place on your sidebar for the length
of the giveaway time frame.
3. Share my blog site with a friend if you like...
The entries for the Mother's Day Giveaway ends on Tuesday, May 3rd at midnight central time. Good luck to all you moms that have kissed scraped knees & elbows, brushed tears away, sat in the heat during sporting events biting your nails with anticipation, taxied to ballet & dance, sat through piano & band recitals, held them close when they thought their hearts were breaken, & most of all, loving them eternally no matter what.
Happy Mother's Day from The Cranky Queen!

I remember being rushed and in a bad mood. My mother waited outside with my son then 4 while I ran inside a chili parlor to pick up our food, and glancing back thru the glass door to see my sons face pressed against the window with the sweetest expression & smile! At that moment my bad mood disappeared. Got Your Button on Side Bar. Hugs Tee
ReplyDeleteAwww, what a precious bottle!! Totally gorgeous, Tiff! Hmmm, a precious memory? I remember when it was summer, I was 17 and I wanted to go out...Well, I had summer school in the morning (only because I was getting more credits to graduate early) and I wanted to go out so much to see my friends--and yay! my mom let me go!! (See, it was 10 o'clock which was my school night curfew.) She was my hero that night! lol

Wow! Some one is going to be really lucky to win that bottle!! I remember my mother would get up at 5:00 am every morning and cook a huge breakfast every morning before we went to school. I am a new follower of your blog.
ReplyDeleteGorgeous bottle. I've got your button on my sidebar. My mother is an amazing artist. I have lovely memories of my mother crafting with us on Saturday mornings. I'm hoping that my daughters are enjoying crafting as much as I did growing up.

When I was little, we would drive to my uncle's house for a visit and it took about 45 minutes. At that time there was no such thing as seat belts or kids car seats. I loved those visits because as we were driving home late in the evening, my Mom always let me sit up front with her. I would lay on the seat with my head in her lap and she would stroke my hair. I have to tell you that I felt safer at that time than I ever would have with a car seat or a seat belt! It's a very fond memory.
Your bottle creation is beautiful! Thank you so much for joining my party!

Hi,
ReplyDeleteI am a new follower. Love, love the bottle! A special memory I have of my mom is what a fantastic seamstress she was. When in High school my sisters and I would give her a pic of a dress we liked in the Seventeen magazine. Wa-La, she would make up her ouwn pattern and make us one that looked exactly like it. Boy, I sure miss her!!
Oh My Goodness that bottle is gorgeous. Hope I win. I will be putting your button on my blog. I lost my Mom when I was 7 years old, but I do have some tender memories of her. She was so talented and made all my clothes. A very sweet mother. She fussed over me and my brother and adored us. I have shed a zillion tears for her even in my adulthood. I have missed her so much. I have always missed her. Thanks for letting me share my memory. Karie
ReplyDeleteMay the best Mother win. All mothers are winners in my book.

The memory that popped into my mind was the birth of my oldest daughter. It was a tough delivery and we almost lost her...she was what they called an old baby...didn't want to come out...bugger! When she was finally born she was not a pretty baby (although she became one of the most beautiful kids), beat and battered big girl 9 lbs 5 oz...ears bent down, skin peeling...she kind of looked like a bulldog...really... I just remember my mother holding her so lovingly, looking at her with adoring eyes and telling me how beautiful she was and that she looked just like my father (who had passed when I was 17)! It is a memory that I will always have in my head and my heart!
Snatched your button and posted about your blog and giveaway...thanks for sharing!

I am a mum but my favourite tale is that of my mum. When I was a child we went to the movies to see Herbie goes to Monte Carlo. My mum was laughing so hard her teeth fell out & she caught them. Needles to say I was in fits of laughter & I can still see it as clear as day in my mind.
ReplyDeletePS have grabbed your button also
Kind regards
Michelle

ReplyDeleteWhat a beautiful bottle you have created, Miss Cranky. It will make someone very happy this Mothers' Day.
ReplyDeleteYou outdid yourself on this bottle! I love it!
ReplyDeleteI think my sweetest memories of her aren't memories at all, but the pictures of her and me when I was a baby. My favorite is one of us looking in the mirror. That was when she was full of hope that I'd be everything she thought she wasn't.
So very pretty :) Hmmm...special mom memory? My mom was and is a prayer warrior. I remember in Higb School and I was having trouble with friends, boys, school, what ever...my mom would say "let's pray about it" and I would think "whatever!!!" But now I realize that was and is the answer to every problem :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for your sweet comment on my blog too! Chat soon, Laurel

Hi, I am glad to have found your blog before your giveaway ends. I love all the things you love too. Only I am not southern. My mother is from Houston, and I lived there when I was very little. I learned to talk there when I was two and three so I think some of my speech comes from the south.
ReplyDeleteI would love to be included in your drawing and I am a new follower.
