Well, I hope everyone in blogland is doing well. I wanted to share with all of ya'll what I did at "Gal-Pal's Craft Night Out" last week. My friend, Wanda, at http://shopjustvintage.com said that we should do a peat pot craft. I don't know about ya'll, but the word "peat pot" sounds just a little disgusting. I then said "a what pot?" Then she explained what peat pots were, & that they are typically used to start seedlings. So, I started looking at different magazines, & I found lots of cute peat pot ideas!
I tore pages from an old encyclopedia & used Modge Podge to adhere pieces to the pot. I found this great bird image on Graphic Fairy's blog. Added a old earring for some "bling"!
I tucked some green moss into the pot. Feathers, light green lace & an egg were the final touches. I just love it! It is "perched" among all of my nest collection.
I added some egg images on the back courtesy of Graphic Fairy.
The next peat pot is my favorite, since I am often referred to as "Queen Bee!" I glued brown silk ribbon to the rim of the pot & attached odd jewelry from earrings & cuff links. I chose to keep the natural pot & added the bee images from Graphic Fairy.
I filled the pot with brown moss, shredded hymnal paper & a wasp nest
The back of the pot has a picture of a hive with bees. I used distress ink to make the image look old. The Cranky Queen is "happy" with her new creation!
