To bring everyone "
abreast" of the what the
Cranky Queen has been doing with her "oh so precious time", she thought that she should share her re-make showing a
BEFORE &
AFTER...Above being the
after. I purchased this little letter/bill holder for 50 cents at a thrift store.
This is what it looked like before...So, what do you think? I spray painted it with flat white paint; lightly sanded the edges to show just a little of the original green paint; then I browsed
The Graphics Fairy for the perfect bird and egg images; printed on card-stock; cut out; darkened the edge with aging ink; tore pages from an old book (that had seen better days) & used Modge Podge to adhere. I also used a large vintage button & glue green moss & 2 plastic eggs for "a nest look."
This chic's flown the coop!
Now it is ready to be priced & "flown" to my booth.
Next the Cranky Queen will give a tutorial making a nest from a vintage crocheted doily. You are getting a "birds eye view"....
1. Saturate the doily in Fabric Stiffener. | |
2. Cover the bowl with saran wrap to make it easier to pull away from the bowl once it is dry. |
3. Place the doily over the bowl. |
4. Place another bowl over the doily to help shape. |
5. Once dry, remove bowls and the doily looks like this~STIFF |
6. I wove a green ribbon thru the holes of the doily; added shredded hymnal paper & green moss for filler; 3 river rocks posed as eggs; old feather from a wedding fountain pen & graphic (Graphics Fairy) of a vintage bird cage. |
